switching over to a new theme

    Can I work on a new theme and save it before I am ready to activate it? I’d like to work on the new theme but make many tweaks before it goes live. This could take me several days or even weeks as I get it just right. Can I work on the new theme and save it, while keeping my site live with the old theme until I am ready to switch it over to the new one? I am concerned that if I hit “Activate” or “Save and Activate” that will mean that the new theme goes live before I have finished all my tweaks. Thanks.

    Not really, no.

    As an alternative, you’re welcome to register as a many free WordPress.com blogs as you want by visiting https://signup.wordpress.com/signup/ while logged in, so you could work with the theme on an entirely separate blog.
