Switching platforms

  I am looking to switch from WordPress.com to another platform. Does this mean I should cancel my account here or can I switch the site over?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hey there!

  Tell me more about what you’re hoping to accomplish, and I can lend a better hand.

  Do you know the platform to which you’re moving? You should probably start there…ask them if you can import a WordPress.com XML file into your new site. If so, you can run an export of your WordPress.com site, like this:

  Export Your Website’s Content

  Then, you won’t have to start the new site from scratch.

  I am looking to switch to SquareSpace but I really have no idea how. I don’t mind starting from scratch as I haven’t worked on my WP site yet.

  Ah!

  Ok, if you don’t mind starting from scratch, you don’t need to transfer over your content.

  How about your domain? I see you registered it here a couple months ago. If you want to use abkecollection.com for your SquareSpace site, you have a couple options:

  Transfer your domain to SquareSpace:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/transfer-domain-registration/

  “Point” your domain from WordPress.com to SquareSpace’s servers:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/change-name-servers/

  Don’t delete your WordPress.com site until all those decisions are made, or you could inadvertently cancel your domain and (possibly) lose ownership of it.
