Switching themes

I’m looking to switch themes. From Spring loaded to perhaps Liquorice or Bueno. Firstly, I’m nervous about losing data – mostly content from pages and posts, but not necessarily widgets (although I’d like to make sure my “freshly pressed” widget will transfer over).
Secondly, when testing out the new themes with a live demo, many of the links don’t work. As an example, I have a page on the menu that when clicked, reveals a page full of linked recipe titles. When you click on any of the links, they don’t take you to the pages.
Is there a backup procedure I should consider? I’ve seen a question about a mirror blog, but I’m not familiar with them.
    Many thanks!

No content is ever lost when changing themes.

Go to Dashboard > Appearance > Themes
browse themes until you find one you like and click “activate”
or type in the name of the theme you want to use and
click the “activate” link when it appears

After you change your theme all you need to do is go here Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets > Inactive Widgets and re-install them where you want them to appear. The widget contents and settings will be the same as they were prior to changing themes.

I’m sorry but we cannot help with what we cannot see. Please post an active link starting with http:// so we can examine what you describe.

Thanks for the quick response. I’m not entirely sure if this will work for you, but fingers crossed. This is the page with the recipes in “live demo” mode. The links don’t work here. Will they work once I switch over?http://peakperspective.wordpress.com/wp-admin/customize.php?theme=pub%2Fliquorice
    Again, thank you!

Volunteers cannot view your blog using that link.

I have been here for 7 years and have used or tested out almost every free theme there is. I suggest that you simply change themes because your concerns are not grounded in reality. It’s easy to switch themes and no content is ever lost, all links will remain intact.

Alrighty. I appreciate your expertise and will trust your good judgement. Cheers.
