Switching Themes and Switching Back

I’m currently using the Twenty Twenty-Five theme which requires an upgrade to widen the content width. Are there any other free themes that allow this to be done free? Also If I experiment and switch to a new theme and switch back to Twenty Twenty-Five, do I lose all my customisations and layout?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there it looks like you’ve switched to the Maso theme in the meantime. For anyone else interested, we have a support guide to changing content width https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/change-the-width-of-a-block/

As far as experimenting, if you change themes, it’s likely that you’ll lose some customizations (can you explain which ones you mean), but not your content. Here’s another guide explaining that https://wordpress.com/support/themes/changing-themes/

    Thanks.
Yes, I discovered it’s possible to switch themes, without losing customisations. The Maso theme allows full width (well almost) on the single page template. In the template gallery, the thumbnail shows the content width or rather the parent block that holds the content as almost being full width and coloured white (I changed the background colour), with a beige bar either side. However when I view the live page, I don’t see these beige bars. (I can’t change the complete background to white because I haven’t upgraded yet). On the home page (or index page as it’s called in the theme), I’ve switched to grid view which I think looks better. I’m going to try creating galleries of grids, to categorise articles by subject..
