Switching themes & spending time
-
I switched to Sight theme (from Twenty Eleven). Honest, how do people switch themes often (ie. several times per year)? It’s time-consuming to fix up the blog posts so things look pretty and fine.
And mine were minor adjustments…well, generally speaking. And I don’t blog as often as others. Hence, less blog posts to tweak. :o
And still not perfect, ie. custom header I could reduce. But that’s another month or so. Making things mobile great, etc.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I love the switch to Sight on your blog except for the background color.
The mobile theme is a completely different theme. Leave it disabled at > Appearance > Mobile.
As it’s a responsive layout theme listed here the layout adapts depending on the size of the device being used to view your site. When responsive width themes are viewed on mobiles sidebars appear below the posts in order to provide as much space as possible for reading. This is how it appears in various devices http://www.responsinator.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fcyclewriteblog.wordpress.com%2F

Thanks for this cool tool, re responsinator!
I tend to like warm earthy colours as a backdrop. What colours do you see fit for my blog background? Am curious what your taste tends to be (which I haven’t totally figured out.)
I noticed on some (older?) browsers, the Sight theme’s wonderful featured blog post automatic slider feature doesn’t even show up.

You’re welcome re: responsinator. I run only the most recent stable versions of browsers so I can’t verify what you say. This site is one that allows for free cross browser compatibility testing.
