Switching to a mapped domain

    I currently use a __________wordpress.com primary domain. I have a mapped domain set up which is the same but withouth wordpress.com at the end. When I change the primary domain to this the webpage doesn’t open up and get an error message on the browser. I’ve recently taken over the site (its a sporting club website) so not sure on the full details of the domain provider, it looks like it may be through wordpress. Any ideas how I can make this work so that the primary domain doesn’t include wordpress? thanks

    Hi @sgoult , it looks like you need to update the nameserver settings for your domain. Log into the domain provider, and you’ll want to replace the existing nameservers with these:

    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM ,
    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM , and
    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

    After that, give it a few hours. Once the domain starts pointing to the new site, you can make it primary.

    Also: I noticed you bought this upgrade with another account. If you’ll log in using that account, you can access staff support directly at https://wordpress.com/help/contact .
