Switching to Mailchimp
-
I am trying to migrate my emails to Mailchimp instead of WordPress. Automatically, whenever I publish a post, it is sent out in a email through WordPress. But I am unable to find a way of disabling WordPress’s emails to my followers so that I can have Mail-chimp send these emails instead. I’m not sure if I need to disable WordPress’s emails and then just send new blog posts on Mailchimp, or if there is someway to switch the default emails from WordPress/Jetpack to Mailchimp. How should I solve this problem?

Hi there,
While you’re welcome to send out your own newsletter for your site via a service like Mailchimp, the built in subscription emails for WordPress.com sites cannot be disabled. So any newsletter you send will be in addition to the WordPress.com subscription emails.
If you have email-only subscribers on your site, you can export those email addresses from Users ->All Users ->Email Followers in the dashboard, and import those into Mailchimp. But that won’t include the email addresses of people who subscribed to your site using a WordPress.com account – those can’t be migrated to another subscription service, so for any of those subscribers to get your newsletter, they’ll need to subscribe to that separately themselves.
Let me know if you have any questions about this.
