Switching to Premium Theme
-
Once we purchase the premium plan and switch to an alternative premium theme, the system seems to be asking us to pay again. How do I switch themes without paying? Thank you.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There is no FTP access https://en.support.wordpress.com/ftp-access/ to any wordpress.com sites. The only themes we can use on WordPress.com hosted blogs are licensed and adapted to run on our multiuser software the themes are found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ and in your dashboard at > Appearance > Themes
See:
Themes »Uploading Custom Themes
http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/adding-new-themes/All premium themes https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/sort/premium/ for wordpress.COM hosted sites are paid themes. The upgrade is a one time payment and the charge varies from theme to theme.
All support docs are at https://en.support.wordpress.com/
Search for premium themes there https://en.support.wordpress.com/?s=premium+themes

re: WordPress.COM hosted sites, regardless of upgrades we cannot:
upload any third party themes,
create child themes,
create our own themes,
edit templates,
create own own layouts,
or use stylesheets from other themes.
https://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/For uploading any other themes you’d need a self-hosted WordPress.ORG software install running on a paid web hosting service.

I forgot to mention this fact: there are no premium themes included in the premium upgrade plan https://wordpress.com/pricing/

Thank you. I appreciate the detailed response. I didn’t realize that premium themes were not included with the premium plan. That is the problem. Thank you for the response.
