Switching to Self Hosted WordPress.org

We have recently switched from WordPress.com to WordPress.org and I have worked with our hosting provider to set everything up. However, when I type in http://www.giantsheadgrind.com it’s still going to giantsheadgrind.wordpress.com.

This should no longer be happening.

    What am I missing?

    A quick update.

I have put the primary domain back to giantsheadgrind.com for now until everything gets resolved. However, I ultimately want to delete this blog, but I think there may still be a setting that I am missing. Ideally, I would like to delete reference to giantsheadgrind.com from this blog completely.

    How is this be done?

I see that the name server records on your domain are updated and pointing to the right site. I’ve just canceled and refunded the upgrade for you.

Please let us know if you need any further assistance!

Thank you for the refund. That was unexpected! :)

As an aside, for some reason, WordPress.com wouldn’t let go of the URL. We ended up having to delete the site completely before we started to see things working properly.

For future reference, what is the process to delete or remove a domain from a WordPress.com website?

It might be that the old redirection is still cached in your browser. Can you please try clearing out your cache and cookies using the guide below?
