Switching to self-hosting

    I am considering switching to wordpress.org. I wanted to start the setup and installation without affecting my current wordpress.com site. I have bought my own domain name for my current site. To start the wordpress.org process, I will need to purchase my own hosting and transfer my domain name to it. Will transferring my domain name to the new host affect my current site?

    Hi,
    Depending on the Procedure You Go through, moving your Blog in an organized and well planned out manner then it Shouldn’t Affect Your Blog Here on WordPress.

    If You question is whether your blog will be Removed after being relocated to a WordPress.org installation then i can assure if your blog has a wordpress.com sub-domain associated domain that it won’t be Removed.

    A Mod Should be Able to Give a More Clear Definitive Answer to this Question.
