Switching to wordpess.org

  I would like to switch to wordpress.org but I am not very technical so I would not know how to write code etc. If I switch would I be able to keep my website looking exactly as it is automatically? Would I be able to keep my theme etc?

  Another quick question! If o switch would I be allowed to use Google Adsense on my site?

  Hi Emily-Jane,

  Setting up a self-hosted website on WordPress.org, you’ll have complete access to your site so you can definitely make it look and work the exact same as you have here at WordPress.com. You’ll need to carefully export and import your content, but once you do that and use the same theme, it will look the same.

  You can continue using the motif theme when using WordPress.org software, but you will need to install it again. (Transferring your content doesn’t transfer the theme.) You can download the necessary files here:

  Once you switch, you’ll have full access to everything on your site. You could certainly implement Google Adsense if you wish.
