Switching to WordPress

I use WP for my personal site, but I also volunteer for a nonprofit that uses Go Daddy. Go Daddy is very expensive and I find the designer interface nearly impossible, so would like to switch the nonprofit over to WP. Should I just keep our domain ‘rental’ from Go Daddy, and unsubscribe from the Designer? Or is there a reason switch the domain ‘rental’, too? Any guidance would be appreciated.

  • Hi,

Here is some information about Using a Domain You Already Own (Domain Mapping):
https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

Alternatively, it’s possible to transfer your domain to WordPress to act as your new registrar. The benefit is that all of your website related things are in one space.

You can read more about this here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/prepare-domain-for-transfer/

    Hope this helps :)
