Switching to WordPress.org

  • Unknown's avatar

I have deleted a site (scoutengg.com) from this wordpress.com account. That site is now hosted on a third party provider, where of which I have installed the WordPress.org servers to have more control over my site.

Even though it has been removed, and transferred to another host, the site is still attributed to wordpress.com and I cannot log into my wp-admin to customize the site from the .org side. What am I missing? The domain is directed to the third party hosting service, the .org servers are installed. Though I still get a ‘domain mapping’ error when trying to log into the admin panel.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

scoutengg.com displays fine for me and I can see the 1&1 log in page if I add /wp-admin to the address. Perhaps you just need to clear cache/cookies from your browser (or even try a different browser).

    Hi scoutengg,

For your information, the site scoutengg.com name servers are not pointing to WordPress.com.

    Name Servers:ns1020.ui-dns.org
    ns1040.ui-dns.biz
    ns1045.ui-dns.de
    ns1063.ui-dns.com

Though I still get a ‘domain mapping’ error when trying to log into the admin panel.

Perhaps you just bought the domain and hosting, and maybe it needs a little bit of time until everything is properly set up on their end. If not check if the below thread helps.

    Thank you.

    Hi scoutengg,

If you haven’t done so already, please follow @themagicrobot’s suggestion of clearing your browser cache:

    Solve Common Browser Issues

Browsers sometimes cache the old DNS for a domain but this should help flush that information out.

Let me know how you get on.
