switching to wordpress personal
-
My wordpress site has been ad-free for two and one-half years. All of a sudden now I have adds on the emails that go out to my subscribers. I’m willing to pay for wordpress personal, but I don’t want to start over. Help!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Upgrading to the Personal plan gives you the option to remove ads from your site. However I’m not sure if that also applies to ads shown in emails to subscribers. I’ve tagged this thread to ask if a member of staff could clarify this issue.

Hi there, it was my understanding from this reply https://wordads.co/2018/11/01/wordads-now-with-ads-in-email-subscriptions/#comment-6107 when it was first introduced that WordPressdotcom sites with an upgrade plan are exempt from email advertising.
Would be happy to have Staff re-confirm.

I posed the question because I recalled this thread:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/please-disable-ads-in-email-notifications/
where a member of staff said:We are just including ads at the bottom of blog posts distributed via email
which wasn’t clear to me if the ads shown in emails could be removed with a paid plan or not.

Generally speaking, if you have a free site it can have ads. The ads help cover our costs; a plan can do the same.
As for ad placement in emails, I think Jon was addressing the idea that we would send ad-only emails; we won’t. Sites with paid plans don’t have ads anywhere unless they’ve chosen that with WordAds and are getting paid for them.
@workandworkingblog, I can see you have a plan now so you won’t have ads from here. -
