Switching to WordPress.com account

  I am looking to switch from my current hosting (wordpress.UNIVERSITY.edu) to a wordpress.com site. I want to have a smooth transition and avoid a great deal of downtime. I was hoping you could answer a few questions and offer any additional advice you may have:

  1. I currently use the Oxygen layout. Will this transition without any need to update or rework?

  2. In addition to the Oxygen layout, I added some additional lines to the css sheet in order to have a look more in line with my overall vision. This is standard css such as divs to manipulate the font and image spacing. Will any of this be lost or need to be updated?

  3. As I am planning to purchase a premium account, will I be able to manipulate the layout further in the future?

  4. Are there any additional warnings I should be aware of when moving a wordpress site over to wordpress.com?
