Switching to wordpress.ORG in mainland China?

  Hello! So, my blog is currently on wordpress.COM. I am in mainland China, where WordPress is censored, so people have to use a proxy to access my blog from China. I would like to move to wordpress.ORG. If so, can I chose my own host? Would a wordpress.ORG site be accessible from mainland China? Thanks!

  WordPress.org runs on a hosting site. Some of these have shared IPs on the low end packages – if you use one of these then there is a chance that if another site on the same IP is blocked you will be too. If you have a unique IP then you should be OK – but I would check explicitly with a host before signing up (its conceivable that an entire block allocated to a host would be banned).

  WordPress.org have a site recommending hosts, though you might find it easier to use a host in China as they would understand censorship issues. A google search shows this one has a WordPRess option.
