Switching to wordpress.org w/ godaddy.com domain mapping

  Hi, I just started a blog here and would like to change to WordPress.org. I purchased the domain mapping upgrade w/ my own domain from godaddy. Will switching my domain to self-hosted blog be as easy as changing the name servers being that I purchase the upgrade here? Also, is there any way I can get a refund since I just made the purchase 4 days ago? Thank you.

  You’re welcome to keep your domain with us and update the nameservers to point to your hosting provider by following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/domain-management/#update-nameservers

  After 60 days from the date of purchase, renewal, or nameserver change, you may also transfer your domain to another registrar: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/domain-management/#transfer-to-another-registrar

  Unfortunately, your domain purchase has passed the 48-hour refund period. We can still cancel it, but it’ll take about 90 days for it to return to the open market.

  Looks like their registrar is GoDaddy:

  http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/whois/?tool_id=66&token=&toolhandler_redirect=0&ip=babycouponsandstuff.com

  Then they just need to switch pointing of name-servers after they install WordPress.ORG on where ever their host is. Their blog has nothing in it so no Export / Import issues.

  Thank you for your responses. I’m hoping the second is correct. I have nothing in the blog and the domain’s Registrar is GoDaddy. So to verify, I just have to change the name-servers to new host. Correct?

  Change the name-servers to the new host – Yes

  However your host needs to have WordPress installed on it – that is usually something that you do yourself – some hosts have a “One Button Install” that usually works.

  If you have trouble you will need to make friends over at WordPress.ORG the keepers of the software you will be using: http://wordpress.org/support/

  In that case, all you need to do is change the nameservers with GoDaddy.

  Thank you both! As for the refund, since I didn’t purchase the domain from you, just the $12 fee to use mine here, is that possibly refundable?
