Syncing databases on a WooCommerce site
-
I created a staging site for my WooCommence store and made many changes. The instructions at https://wordpress.com/support/how-to-create-a-staging-site/#synchronize-staging-to-production say that I can’t sync the database.
How, then, am I to push the changes (i.e. theme changes, product additions, etc.) back to production? Without this functionality, the staging site feature is worthless.
Thanks!

Looking back at my earlier tickets, I see that you folks warned me about this in an earlier ticket: https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/cant-import-from-production-to-staging/.
At that time, you changed my username to fix a problem with pushing from Production to Staging. However, it looks like you only changed it on Staging. Now that I’m trying to move some things from Staging to Production (via Tools->Import/Export), I’m being stopped because of the same username problem. Could you please change it on Production? Then it should work (I think). Thanks.

This issue can be closed — WordPress.com folks helped me privately.
I do want to apologize for my tone. There was a clear warning that WooCommerce Staging sites can’t be pushed back to Production; I didn’t take that warning seriously when I started planning, and then forgot about it by the time it was time to move the changes back. I was warned.
In one conversation, a WordPress.com rep acknowledged that they acknowledge this gap and would like to fix it.
