Syncing my stuff
-
Purchased a domain name (two years’ worth) via GoDaddy. And promptly went to WordPress and bought three years, I believe, of use. Hmm, do I need to do a mapping device to get these items to sync? Somehow I had supposed GoDaddy and WordPress were more directly linked; that doing one would automatically connect to the other. Not so, it would seem, because from WordPress I perceive my newly acquired domain name is not available to connect to.
So the question, is MAPPING via WordPress my best option now?

Hey h0p1ng2h0p,
You seem to have a confusion between WordPress.com and WordPress.org.
When you buy a web hosting from GoDaddy, Bluehost, or any other web hosting company, you use the standalone WordPress software.
But when you buy any plan here on WordPress.com, the team handles everything.
To use your custom domain, as you said you bought from GoDaddy, you need a paid plan either you transfer or map your domain.

Hahaha, confusion? Most likely.
So it is as I thought; since I’ve paid WordPress for their stuff, I need to link my via-GoDaddy domain to them. Looks like Mapping, indeed.
Thanks much for confirming.
