Why are syndicated views now shown in site stats?

    Hello,
Since beginning of June the number of page views of my site dropped considerately. This was at the same time I registered my own domain up2v.nl to the WordPress blog.

How can I add the syndicated views to the regular views done by using a browser?

    best wishes,
    Marcel

Sounds like you’re referring to two different things?

If by “syndicated views” you’re referring to views from RSS feeds, we don’t currently show these in the main stats.

As for the domain registration, that shouldn’t have any effect on the stats, as the previous location is redirected automatically.

I am looking for a reason why the number of pages viewed shown in Site Stats dropped by around 25% since June 1. A lost of 100 page views without a clear reason is strange.

  • As stats are a reflection of human behavior, it’s hard to say what’s going on.

Technically, I see nothing wrong with the system.

More than likely, you just lost a few readers. You had a big gap from May 28 to Jun 9 where you didn’t post anything, so you may have lost some readers due to inactivity.

Also, keep in mind that syndicated views are only recorded when someone visits your site from a feed reader or email subscription. There is no way to record feed views unless they click through to visit your site, so just because your stats went down, it doesn’t mean that you don’t have more readers elsewhere, like on Google Reader.
