'Syntax error'

Hello. I recently created a website and in the footer, tried to change ‘powered by wordpress’ to ‘powered by ____ marketing group’ when I went to make this change, a syntax error shows on the bottom of the page where the footer should be, and the footer is not there anymore.

The authors have deleted this site.Powered by wordpress is an indication of a site that is a wordpress.ORG software install that we do not provide support for at wordpress.COM.
What is the exact URL of the site you refer to please?

We provide support only for wordpress.COM hosted sites and that one is not among them. Our support docs do not apply to (1) local installs of wordpress.ORG software on your own server or (2) wordpress.ORG software installs on paid hosting, and we do not provide support for them at wordpress.COM. You are posting to the wrong support forum.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. As you are referring to a site that is not hosted here, if you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right-hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.
