System down?

I am having the problem jpoyer is having…
I haven’t been on WordPress long, but I haven’t had a problem at all until now.

I clicked Published for several posts and they didn’t appear in the display. When I check the post in Manage Posts, there’s no trace of them.

Trent, I don’t suppose you could make this a sticky? Seems like we’ve got four threads already on various aspects of the problem.

I am sure Staff are aware of these problems, but I also reported it to them. I would imagine it will be working again sometime soon.

I’ve also tried deleting the “welcome” post that wordpress seems to publish for you by default, and it keeps coming back.

Mine is totally screwed up. Invalid key thing others are saying, pages don’t show up at all for other users, acts like I’m editing, but no editing is saved.

I suspect that if we’re patient, things will get back to normal in the next hour or so. With all the traffic and blogs on wp dot com, I suspect things really load up right after some sort of outage.

Having the same problem. You can’t save or publish anything. I tried to erase a comment and that is also broke.

no kidding. Skype dies, we’re having production problems. … But you can have some of my tissues if you want. I think I’m all cried out.

If I am logged on nothing seems to work. I cant even VIEW my blog. After logging off I can at least get to the blog but of course I cant do anything with it logged off.

Gee, you know what — I’m sitting here posting the same post every 5 minutes or so, just so I can catch it if it comes up — I hope it doesn’t all come in … I’ll have some super delete time. heh heh heh

I need an emergency fix: I have a post scheduled to go live in a couple of hours announcing a page of downloads. But that page is in draft and I can’t get it published. And I can’t delete the post: it looks like it’s deleting, but it comes back. I can’t edit the time stamp. I cannot have that post go live. How can I force a delete on that post? Is there a way to temporarily “close” the blog, so at least people will see nothing instead of an erroneous post?
