Tab and indentations
-
Why can’t I use the Tab key to indent paragraphs? That’s a basic tenet of grammar. I shouldn’t even have to ask about this. I should be able to indent paragraphs and dialogue within my writing. The Tab key doesn’t work and my first post looks like it was formatted by a child. I will not be using WordPress any more unless you can fix this for me.

I want a real solution to this problem, not just the best guess of whoever happens to spend their free time answering questions on the WordPress forums. Tab is so basic that you should be ashamed it doesn’t work in your website. You might as well not allow capital letters

<p style=”padding-left: 30px;”>P.S. – No one is making you post to the forums. (I highlighted this portion and clicked once on the “Increase indent” tab.)</p>

Web pages are written in html, so you need html to add the type of formatting that you normally get with a single button-push in a word processor. That’s how the internet works. Also, I suggest you read the Support Forum Community Standards before you post here again: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/wordpresscom-forums-community-standards?replies=1

You’ve gotten good responses here from our volunteers, Thanks guys!
Musicdoc1 demonstrated how the paragraph indents work. If you need extra help finding the icons he mentioned, here’s what you are looking for:
If you don’t have two rows of icons, first you will need to click the toolbar toggle button. It looks like this:
It’s ok to be frustrated, or even angry with us. It’s not ok to be abusive. I’ve removed the unnecessary parts of your question below.
