Tab doesn't work properly when indenting lists

After the update to the block editor, tabs don’t work properly when indenting in a list.
Before the update, I could tab and shift tab to indent right and indent left respectively.
After the update, I use the classic block. But now when I press tab to indent right, the tab makes one indent right, but brings me out of the editing window, such that I cannot type anymore and have to click to bring the focus back to the editing window. I think this is a bug, can this be fixed please?
The theme I am using is penscrath2 just in case, I’m not sure it’s related to the theme or a general problem with the block editor.

As for indenting list items, this is possible in the block, but not via a keyboard shortcut.
however, you can click on the list item you want to indent, and use the block settings to indent it.

Another option is to use the “classic block” which is a way to insert the older interface inside the new block editor. You can see that if a list is added to the classic block, you can use the tab key to indent. Video at this link: https://d.pr/v/XuxDH5
