Tab Malfunction
-
Hello, there! I need help….
I’m using the Regulus theme by Ben Gillbanks, the one with two colored tabs on display (Yellow for home and blue for About). I recently added another blog entitled “Zeitgeber Limited Company” and posted a comment (in About) and two news articles (in Home). I got no problem with the posting however of the comment. But with the articles in Home I could not view it at the site.
I have previewed the article and no problem, I can do that. But when I visit the site to check on its publication in the Home tab, I could not display the contents of the Home tab. It just won’t show (as if will disconnect when I clicked at more than 7 times already).
This is a second blog under the same account. The first is doing well on this area.
I would appreciate if you could help me on this. Thanks in advance.

We can’t help without a link to the blog in question. And consider linking your user name to your blog as explained in the sticky, 8 Things, at the top of the forum.

Thanks for the link. And put it in your user name, as I mentioned above. Makes it a lot easier.
The tab is not malfunctioning. What you have done is set the About page as a static front page. http://faq.wordpress.com/2007/02/20/having-a-static-page-at-the-front-of-the-blog/ If that was not your intention, change it back.

Yes. It worked. I removed the static setting on About. Thanks for the help.
But there’s one more related observation I got during the process. In the static setting as well as my user page, I can only see the About page existing there. What happened? I am wondering because the faq article illustration shows that the drop down in the static option will also show the Home page. I am considering putting on stating the Home page perhaps in the near future. I am simply considering a wider option.
Thanks again. I’m sure you can help me on this newcomer’s puzzle.

Nothing happened – it’s just that themes aren’t all alike. Some themes, including the one you’re using, have a built-in “Home” or “Front” or “Blog” header tab; that’s a hard-coded link to direct a reader back to the front of your blog, not a page like the ones you can see and edit in Manage>Pages.
