Table and Font Formatting Lost When Pasting

I’ve been trying to copy information from a Google doc into wordpress. The font is Arial and I also have some tables with varying column widths and background fill on every other row. If I just copy and paste from Google docs, it pastes as Times with all the background fill gone and the columns at uniform width. I thought I would get clever and exported the files as HTML and then copied the HTML code into page, and the page looked GREAT! Until I saved and reopened it and then all my formatting was lost again. Is there some way to preserve my formatting?
