Table of Contents
-
My blog, Time and Place (mneset.wordpress.com) will have 200 posts by the end of the month. I want to create a table of contents (with titles not dates) at the top of the page instead of down the side because I like the one column format. How can I do that?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi!
It looks like you have a few support requests spread out over two thread. I’m going to address them all here. Please keep all further correspondence in this thread.
Please cancel domain mmneset.com.

There are a few ways we could do this. If you would like, you could create a new page titled “Archive” and then used the Display Post Shortcode mentioned here to list out all of your posts:
Alternatively, you could use categories to break up your posts into different topics, and then, use Category Pages to display your various posts:

If neither of those would achieve what you’re looking for, could you clarify a bit more what you’re trying to accomplish?

Thanks Jeremy. Sorry for all the mixed messages and thanks for your help. I am determined to clean up my blog act and look just a little more professional I hope.
I have deleted the extraneous site. Thanks.
I will try your recommendations above on the two blogs I want to make the most changes to (mnesetdotcom1.wordpress.com and nesetm.com) before trying them on one of my main blogs like mneset.wordpress.com.
Hopefully that will give me the format look and experience I am aiming for.
Please keep this thread open until I have tried that later today.
Again, thanks for help.

Hi Jeremey, With your assistance I have resolved almost everything about and with my blogs, including getting one deleted, creating archive pages for three and a table of contents side widget for the fourth. Thank you so much.
I have been working steadily on this since 2am and feel like I am conquering some of “WordPress/Blog fears!”
I’m sure I’ll be back with more questions but for now I only have one more question. How can I get the ‘FOLLOW BLOG’ widget or icon into the headings of my three blogs that are one column?
Again…I appreciate your help A LOT. Thanks, marjorie

Hey Marjorie!

That’s great to hear!!
How can I get the ‘FOLLOW BLOG’ widget or icon into the headings of my three blogs that are one column?
For blogs that are one column (i.e. don’t have widget areas), the best thing to do is to create a “Subscribe” page. Then, within that page, enter the shortcode described here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/blog-subscription-shortcode/
That will create a subscription area within the page. Then, just add the page to the top menu on your site so readers will see “Subscribe” as an option. Can you give that a try?
