Tablet Responsive
-
Hey WordPress. There’s no way I’m the first to ask about this. It seems WordPress cannot distinguish between mobile(Phones) and tablet devices. I noticed this a few months back but I never really payed attention, I blamed it on a plugin but I was wrong. I created a website header with elementor and Customized a few other Pages for Phones, Tablets and desktops separately. I soon figured out Tablets were displaying as phones (You can guess how ugly everything was). The tablet header and other content I customized are like they weren’t even created. I then noticed If I hide something on phones thy are hidden on tablets as well. I also realized another thing. The tablet I was using for testing; I rotated it horizontally (like I was playing a game). I realized that the content I created for tablets started showing, even the header too. This got me wondering; was the tablet I used for testing too small hence ended being recognized as a phone device? I switched my theme to the twenty twenty one default theme and the problem was still persistent. I read something online talking about WordPress Categorize Tablets as (mobile devices) so maybe this is what’s causing the problem? What I personally think is; because of a carousel plugin I am using, this plugin has the option to customize the layout for large and small tablets and when I check on the results on the tablet I am running the tests with; the layout was fine. So this brings me to the conclusion that WordPress is categorizing small tablets as mobile phones, I could be wrong but this is a hunch. With all of that said, I’d like for tablets to be categorized by itself so the contents I created for tablets with elementor can be visible to visitors. I there’s anything I can do throughout this process please let me know. I’ll always be here .
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hey there! Is this an issue with wp-admin, or with what your site visitors see?
If the site itself looks wrong on a tablet, it’s most likely an issue with your theme, or possibly with a particular block or element. Or the plugin, as you mentioned. You might use the Healthcheck plugin to confirm:
You can also use that to check the admin side of your site. If you’re seeing the same issues in plain WordPress with a basic theme (the Health Check plugin will let you see that without affecting the live site) it’d be best to use the correct forums: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/ But I’d also be interested to see what you’re seeing, in case it’s affecting our users as well. Let us know what you find!
Oh, and here’s the difference between the WordPress software and our managed hosting service:
