Hi I need to create a 2 part blog where I can post 2 related subjects under the same main blog but divided using 2 tabs. How do i make tabs. I have basic css skills like padding and adjusting an exiting template.

tks Isadora.. I realised my post could be a bit unclear (being a newbe). I meant if I wanted to say that I’m not sure how to create those excellent tabs at top under the header banner that say “about” and “blog”. I am using an adapted version of a standard template at the moment

the blog http://earthpages.wordpress.com/faq/ is a great example. Just how do I add these tabs/links? cheers

Those tabs are separate pages on your blog. You can create new ones by going to Dashboard > Write > Write Page; the title will be what it’s called (ie. Contact). They’re very useful for pages you won’t have to update much (like an about page) or to direct people to other content; for instance, I have a poetry page with links to some of my poetry. These FAQs might help you as well.

tks to cjwriter and isadora for your rapid responses..
I managed to get a link and a page by using a page widget but not as a tab at the top. Maybe as the faq link you supplied says only on some themes – such as Contempt, Cutline, Light and others – does a bar appear with Page titles. So maybe I have the wrong theme …

I need to fix up some other css text issues etc as well.I wanted tags such as with this blog:

Yes, silver is the new black does not have top navigation, and I don’t know if it is possible to add it via CSS or not.
If you have CSS experience (and the CSS upgrade), Sandbox is the most wide open and customizable of the themes here and people have done some amazing stuff with it.

tks thesacredpath … I have basic css experience. Have been messing round with ‘silver is the new black” theme but wanted to reset my changes to another default theme like ‘sandbox’ or ‘connections’ cause i have done some real messy changes to the original css that does not adapt well to a new theme. (my changes to my css seem to transfer to the new theme)
Can I do this easily or would i have to start again?
