Tag, I’m it
-
I am new to WordPress.com so please bare with my novicity. I’ve learned much already and now, after suffering through the torment of using MicroSoft Word to cut and paste into WordPress, I have gone to Notepad but am currently downloading Windows Live.
My question is concerning the “tags” that we as bloggers assign to our blogs. Are there more effective ways to use tags, and keywords?
Thank you, 2cats

umm, maybe using words as plural, for example:
If you added the word: “blog”, and someone searched for “blogs”; they wouldn’t have found the tagged article.
However, if that tag had been “blogs”; searches for both “blog” and “blogs” would come up with that article.
Help that helps.

You may want to look at the FAQ http://faq.wordpress.com/2007/09/21/the-difference-between-tags-and-categories/

I’d rather my list of tags not show on my posting for a nice clean look. I don’t see tags listed on other blogs. How do I hide them? I’m using Regulus, if that matters.

All themes here at wordpress.com now display tags (if the blogger is using them) by default. The only way to remove or hide them is through the paid CSS upgrade, and in some themes, all the post data (date, title, categories, tags, authors) are controlled together which means if you hide tags, you hide everything else as well.

But I just tried Blix, it doesn’t show tags by default, on home page. Tags only shown on single pages.
