    How do I do it? Where can I look up available custom fonts without subscribing anywhere. I don’t want to use typekit or whatever you call it. I paid $30 to play with fonts, but I can hardly know what to do.

    Here’s an example that will change the font for the tagline on the Twenty Eleven theme using a font stack:

    #site-description {
    	font-family: Georgia, Times, “Times New Roman”, serif !important;
    }

    You can read more about font stacks at http://unitinteractive.com/blog/2008/06/26/better-css-font-stacks/

    Here’s an example using the “FF Market” font which you setup on your Appearance → Custom Design → Fonts page:

    #site-description {
    	font-family: ff-market-web-1,ff-market-web-2,"Helvetica Neue",Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif !important;
    }

    Note that for the 2nd option, you must use a font that is selected as one of the main options on the Appearance → Custom Design → Fonts page.

    I just want to make sure that I ONLY change SERENITY AFTER TURBULENCE-UPLIFTING FICTION. Nothing Else. I want to use serifs for this one. What would you suggest? I don’t see that I used FF Market. Where do I find that?

  • Unknown's avatar

    You might have confused it with titles that I don’t want to change.
    When you open my site, under my name you’ll see what I want to change. Only that without changing anything else.

    Thank you for your help!

    I’m still waiting for help.

    How can I add serifs for only SERENITY AFTER TURBULENCE–UPLIFTING FICTION?

    The other link didn’t explain what I was asking.

  • Unknown's avatar

    And how can you mark it resolved when it isn’t. I still don’t know how to do it. And I’m waiting…

    The selector #site-description that design simply mentioned above will only change your tagline (the part you want to change).

    I want to change to serifs. How do I do it?
    And thank you for taking your time to respond.

  • Unknown's avatar

    Use the first set of code that designsimply gave you. Or visit the link she gave about font stacks; there’s a big list of options there with serif fonts.

  • Unknown's avatar

    I’m sorry, but I don’t know how to type the code to make that change. I don’t want to change the font if I can add serifs to it.
    But I don’t know how to do it. Also, I really don’t know how to change the font.
    Where do I go? What do I type? Do I type into a new sheet or go back to the one I had made?

    The other stuff member really knew how to explain.

    Thank you for trying to help me. It’s really nice of you.

    To add the code to your stylesheet, you can follow the same directions that justpi gave you in this forum thread: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/header-below-the-title-page?replies=16#post-859484

    I encourage you to start by just pasting in the code that designsimply gave you. There isn’t a way to just add serifs to an existing font; you will have to find a serif font that you like.

  • Unknown's avatar

    But I do have a lot of sheets with revisions. Which one do I use?

  • Unknown's avatar

    I am not a staff member, so I can’t see what stylesheets you already have and how they are organized. I suggest you look for the stylesheet where you added the previous change (the one that justpi helped you with in the other thread) and make the change there.

    I did it! :)

    Do you like it?

    http://www.annalabno.com

    I changed to Times New Romans because I wanted serifs, and all of the computers have this font! :)

    But I don’t know why the tag line is breaking to the next line. There is space.

    Anybody knows what can I do that if someone clicks on the link on my website, that the new window appears? Mine doesn’t open the new window but leaves my site.

    That’s not something you can change for the site title on a WordPress.com site using CSS. You can change it for links inside content areas like posts and pages though. To do it, check the “Open Link in a New Window/Tab” option when you create a link. Here is an example:

    The best way to solve problems is to step away. That’s what I did. What I couldn’t get awhile ago, I got it in seconds.
    My confusion was that I didn’t know that first you have to create links before using links widgets. I thought that you can use any of the two separately. When I used one of each separately, nothing worked.
    Thank you! Now, I need to figure out how to have categories’ names disappear from links. I don’t need the category name above each link.
    How do you do that?

    How can you change order of links how they show on the sidebar?

    Aha! You didn’t even say you were using the links widget before. :) If you can point out specific examples (i.e. mention exactly which link you’re referring to) when you ask for help, it makes it so it’s much easier to figure out how to help.

    How can you change order of links how they show on the sidebar?

    Go to Appearance → Widgets, expand the Links widget, and look for the “Sort by” option. It doesn’t have a way for you to sort the links manually, but it does have a couple basic options like title, ID (basically, the order entered), or a couple others.

    This topic is quite long. Would you mind pleas starting a new help request for separate questions?
