Tag pages don't show up

I apologize if this has been addressed, but the last couple of weeks, every time I go to browse through tags on WordPress (i.e http://wordpress.com/tag/%5Betc.%5D), the page never shows up. It appears it’s loading, but nothing ever pops up. I’ve tried resetting my browser, restarting my computer, etc. but the issue remains unresolved. Any advice?

    Does anybody have any solutions?

I’ve run into this recently, too. They will show up if you add the tag to your Followed Tags in Reader. It appears to be checking if 1) you’re logged in (as if you’re not, the link will send you to a log-in page) and 2) you’re following the tag.

It’s a change in behavior from the past that I’m not really a fan of. I liked to be able to go directly to a wordpress.com tag archive directly from a URL. (I’d written a function for my self-hosted blog that would take my post tags and make a link to the wordpress.com tag so I could see if other people were talking about similar topics.)

I should note, I’m not sure if it’s a deliberate change on the part of Automattic or if there’s some buggy code that’s getting caught in a loop if those two conditions aren’t met. From the behaviors, I think it’s a bug. I’d hate to think that it’s deliberate and meant to keep people outside the wordpress.com ecosystem from looking in.

Seems like the tag pages are working now. Strange. Must have been an ongoing bug.

I wish WordPress would calm down changing things or modifying things that don’t need to be changed. I’m all about progress, but sheesh.

I started my original blog back in 2007. From ’07 to 2012 the tag pages were perfect. They were outlined greatly in like a block format sort of way. You had your featured posts along with recent posts in a way where everything was streamlined so that you could see it. Now it’s one by one, nothing catches your eye the same way it once did and… spam has overtaken much of the tags. It’s sadly weak compared to its old, superior way.
