tag surfer

i use the tag surfer often to read other blogs and comment. lately i noticed that really backdated posts are showing up in the tagsurfer, from as late as the year before! i thought it was supposed to show the latest posts around wordpress. it’s a bit annoying for me because sometimes i do comment and then when i see the date i’d think it’s a bit pointless to comment on something that’s so old.

The only time I see my old comments on tag surfer is when a new commenter picks up an old post on someone’s blog and responds to it. Their response then triggers the display of all the former comments. Is this the same thing you are describing?

Would love to see an example of one of these posts. Only thing I can think of is the post has a recent comment on it and it’s now being displayed as ‘recently modified.’

well i didn’t check to see if there are comments. but the thing is i see more than a few backdated posts by the same user, so it can’t all be comments, unless it’s spam but we know akismet is so good at its job. so the only thing i can come up with is that the user change categories and that’s why it’s appearing so backdated.
but this isn’t happening with one or two users, i’ve seen it like half a dozen times already…

i’ve some backdated posts under the shopping category, from as far as 10 months ago appearing at the top of tag surfer. what is up???

I am new here and, yesterday i found the tags of my country and today it likes that page doesnt excist any more.
Where are the NL.tags ?? I liked it very much. -
Today i tryed https://nl.wordpress.com/tags/ this time i found my NL tags. Why it wasn’t there yesterday i dont know.
Itt doesn’t matter, I am happy with the NL-tags
