  My blog isn’t appearing under tagged searches. When I first started my blog appeared in my reader under tag search such as Cape May. For some reason it doesn’t anymore.

  Hi there,

  Your blog was flagged for posting an affiliate link a few weeks ago, which prevented it from being shared on the Reader. Affiliate links are not allowed, per our Terms of Service.

  I’ve gone ahead and cleared that flag, however it will be flagged again if something like that should happen again. Please take care when posting links!

  Hi Back…What is an affiliate Link and how did I do that? I’m a bit of a rookie at this stuff. If I did something Inappropriate I’d sure like to know about it.

  Please give me an example of where I did this so I dont repeat it.

  Affiliate marketing blogs: Blogs with the primary purpose of driving traffic to affiliate programs and get-rich-quick schemes (“Make six figures from home!!”, “20 easy steps to top profits!!”, etc). This includes multi-level marketing (MLM) blogs and pyramid schemes. To be clear, people writing their own original book, movie or game reviews and linking them to Amazon, or people linking to their own products on Etsy do NOT fall into this category.

  Actually an affiliate link is much more innocent than all that. It’s basically any link where you might get paid for linking to it or if there is marketing associated with the link. And it can be a problem because there’s no way to tell if a link that you find somewhere online isn’t an affiliate link as well.

  This is why we try to be understanding in situations such as this. If someone posts a link accidentally or unknowingly, we just let them know and move on.

  In this case, the affiliate link had already been removed from the post in question, which was this one:

  Cape May Singer Songwriter

  The link was to rs6.net.

  Thanks again for your help (I’m sure you have lots of more important things to do). I may have copied a line from an email I sent. But making money…I wish. I just finished 3 volunteer years as a chamber president.

  I will probably need a couple of upgrades and my own site before I could make money. LOL. I will be more careful. Usually the links I would include are to events or websites etc.
