Tagging
-
Hello,
I have a baseball blog and was looking for help with tagging. If I write a post about an individual player, what is a more effective tag in terms of getting more views: the player or the team he plays for?
Thanks,
TomThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I would use both the name tag and the team tag. All reasons for non-appearance of posts on Topics pages can be found here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/topics/#missing-posts
The combined total of categories and tags on any post must not exceed 15 or it will not display on Categories and Tags pages and in the WordPress.COM Reader.
The rule of thumb is to assign to your posts the least, not the most, combined number of only relevant categories and tags that accurately describe the individual post content. And, you never assign the same keyword or keyword phrase as both a category and a tag. For tips on tagging see > http://onecoolsite.wordpress.com/2013/03/15/quick-blog-post-tagging-tips/
As you have assigned a combined total that exceeds 15 Categories/Tags to your posts, you need to edit and delete. http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/edit-posts-screen/ After removal of the excess categories and/or tags note it may take several days for your posts to begin displaying there.

Thanks. I only use a total of three categories in my blog (one per post). However, I am not sure I understand the magic number of 15. I only use one or two tags in a single post yet are you saying that because my total number of categories and tags used during the course of the blog’s lifespan exceed 15 I may not be getting enough traffic?
