Tagging Old Posts

I have been assisting with tagging posts on this blog – including older posts dating back to 2015. After several days of ‘tagging’, I was asked to stop due to some of the older posts re-posting and drafts (unpublished articles) posting. Only a few (maybe 5 or 6) of the approx. 400 posts did this.
What causes this? I am only halfway through the project and need to finish without anything else randomly posting/re-posting.
