Tagging older posts for the first time

    I posted about a dozen separate poems for Veteran’s Day/Remembrance Day in November 2011, the same for Valentine’s Day in February 2012. I did not TAG them. Is it true that I can tag them now, months later, so that when potential readers are google-ing it will take them to these older posts? I want those posts “to have legs”, so to speak. How do I do this so that Google, etcetera, will take notice of my older posts?
