Tagline Does Not Appear in Albeo
-
I created a blog using Albeo as my theme. It had a generic WordPress tagline in the beginning. Using Settings, I changed the tagline to one I wanted. I clicked Save Changes and went to my blog. But the new tagline does not appear. In fact, no tagline appears. I tried it repeatedly with different text but still can’t get the tagline to show up. It was not resolved. Does anyone know how to get the tagline to appear in Albeo?

Albeo does not show the tagline. It was the theme author’s choice not to show it. If it showed at one time, then it was some sort of seismic anomaly or something.
Themes here are designed by individual designers (typically completely unassociated with wordpress) and then adapted by wordpress staff to work here. As far as possible, they honor the original theme designer’s design and intent.

Thanks so much for your quick response. Seems a bizarre choice to not allow a standard features like a tagline to show if people want it to – or to not somehow indicate in the settings that it isn’t possible with this theme. I’m brand new to WordPress.com so just learning what is/isn’t possible… am sure lots of little things like this will come up! Thanks again for your help!

There are quite a number of themes out there that do not show taglines. I’m not sure of the percentage, but it could be as high as 30%. With the themes here at wordpress, the theme preview will show a tagline (if you have one set) if the theme is designed to show one. The theme preview has some shortcomings, but in my experience previewing themes it has always shown the tagline if the theme is designed to show it.
Again, it was the theme designer’s decision whether to include it or not.
One option is to put your tagline into a text widget and then place that text widget at the top of the sidebar. Not the best solution, but it is an option.
