Tagline does not show in Big Brother Theme

Thanks for helping narrow down the issue to IE.
Could you let me know if the tagline appears OK on the Big Brother demo site:
https://bigbrotherdemo.wordpress.com/
and if the posts appear OK on the Plane demo site:
https://planedemo.wordpress.com/
This will help determine if it might be an RTL-related issue. Thanks!

I tested Big Brother and Plane in IE 11 with Hebrew set as the language and wasn’t able to see any of the issues you’re experiencing:
Plane

https://cloudup.com/cxapA3Hrui5Could you try turning off any browser extensions or add-ons temporarily to see if that might make a difference?

Would it be possible to upload a screenshot to help in troubleshooting as well?
Here’s a guide on how to make a screenshot:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/You can upload the screenshot – in a graphic format like JPG, PNG, or PDF – in your Media Library so I can see it. Thanks.

Beats me.
This won’t happen today/tonight, I’m afraid. Will try tomorrow.
Before I do that, how do I keep the various settings I’ve made to the Twenty Eleven theme so I can revert to it eventually?
-
Most theme-specific settings should be preserved if you switch away from a theme and then back to it again later.
A few exceptions include:
– Widgets – you may need to drag widgets from the Inactive Widgets area back into an active widget area, but the settings should be preserved within each widget itself.
– Menus – you may need to re-assign a custom menu to the theme, but your custom menus and menu items themselves should still be present.
– Custom CSS – you may need to reactivate a CSS revision in your editor.More information about theme switches: http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/#switch-themes

I took screenshots from several themes in preview mode in addition to Big Brother and Plane. The results are surprising. A pdf file called “Screenshots” is now attched to the single post in my blog.

Thanks very much for all the screenshots – very helpful to see what you’re seeing.
1) Could you try turning off any browser add-ons in IE 11 temporarily to see if that might make a difference?
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-CA/internet-explorer/manage-add-ons#ie=ie-11
2) Plane & Big Brother – as you saw yesterday in my screenshots, I haven’t been able to replicate the issues you’re experiencing in IE 11. I’d like to see if turning off your add-ons will help, so please let me know the results of that.
3) Pilcrow – this theme does not display the tagline in any language, as you can see in the demo: http://pilcrowdemo.wordpress.com/ Your screenshot is the expected display.
4) Spectrum – could you explain what you mean by “ugly” fonts? I enlarged the screenshot but I’m not sure what is ugly. :-)
5) Yoko & Truly Minimal – I will try testing with IE 11 on my end.
-
I have to run.
Just to clarify: the screenshots from today are from a different computer – the office machine. Yesterday was the home machine, if that helps in any way.Separately, could you please also look at this query:

5a) Yoko – I’ve been able to replicate some of what you’re seeing in your screenshot in IE11/Windows 7 – the header graphic, tagline, and left sidebar elements are missing, although posts in the main column seem to be displaying correctly. The site displays as expected in Firefox 34 and Chrome 39.
I’ll report these issues to our developers and we’ll keep you posted here.

Correction: I said Truly Minimal when I meant Yoko above – I’ve fixed it now. I’ll test Truly Minimal next.
Clarification: the posts aren’t quite right, either – they’re missing the meta info for each post, like dates, categories, tags, etc.
-
5b) Truly Minimal – I’ve replicated most of the issues you’re seeing in IE 9, 10, and 11 – even though I’m still seeing a bit more content than what’s in your screenshot. I’ve reported the issues to our developers so they can have a look.
Thanks for helping us get some of our themes fixed up in RTL languages!

You’re most welcome!
And yes, both the office and home machines are W7/IE11.Any clue about intermixing RTL and LTR text? The text goes on the fritz with the insertion of even a single English word… Is there any theme that is impervious to this problem or is this a basic editor issue?

Any clue about intermixing RTL and LTR text?
I’ve flagged your other thread for a staff member to chime in there. You should get a reply in the next day or so.

Our developers are no longer seeing any RTL-related issues in Truly Minimal or Yoko in IE 9, 10, or 11, unless “compatibility view” is active. I see that you’ve since switched to Twenty Twelve but still wanted to let you know. :) If you encounter further issues with either of those themes, just let me know and we’ll have another look.
