Tagline in Google search
-
Hi Everyone,
I just made a wordpress blog (fingerfat.wordpress.com) – I’ve noticed that when I Google it, it says:“fingerfat | fingerfat – Get a Free Blog Here”
I want “Get a Free Blog Here” to go away. My site has a tagline, which my friend suggested was the problem, so apparently that’s not it.
Any suggestions? Thank!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That’s not a Tagline and it cannot be removed without violating the ToS and getting your blog suspended.

May I remove credit links such as ‘Blog at WordPress.com’, theme, font, or toolbar links?

Why is it that when I search other blogs it doesn’t say that? For example, my friend’s blog is called “Peanut Butter and Culture Jam” – pbandculturejam.wordpress.com/
When I google it, the link says:
“peanut butter and culture jam | culture jamming: a tactic used to …”I want mine to read similar to that…

On the blog:
Site title = fingerfat
Tagline = Music and food and other things…Site titles (Blog Names) and optional Taglines located here > Settings > General can easily be changed at any time.
However, you are fretting over what Google is displaying without understanding that unless or until your start posting content frequently the changes you make will not be immediately updated by Google.
You have three published posts and it can take weeks for search engines to index your blog. It’s publishing posts, not pages that attracts search engine attention.
The process we use for verifying free hosted WordPress.com blogs with search engines is found here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/
Note: Even if you do not verify the blog the content will be indexed by search engines so don’t feel panicky about this please.
WordPress.com provides the search engines with site maps. We bloggers do nothing. http://en.support.wordpress.com/sitemaps/
