Tagline not appearing in Syntax theme

The title says it all. I’ve ticked the relevant checkbox in the customise menu but nothing. Why???
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
The tagline doesn’t display on all themes, and Syntax is one of those on which it doesn’t display. You might be able to force it to display with custom CSS. See the suggestions by kokkieh in the topic Tagline will not show: Sketch Theme.

If you need further help with the self-hosted version of Syntax, you can post to its WordPress.org forum:
https://wordpress.org/support/theme/syntax
You’ll need a free WordPress.org account to post – if you don’t already have one, you can register here:
https://wordpress.org/support/register.php
Be sure to provide a link to your site when you post, so folks can help you more easily.

Thank you so much for you help! I assumed that because there was an option for a tagline the theme would support it. I didn’t realise the two operate independently of each other.
