Tagline – what’s the use?
-
Can’t figure it out… can’t see the tagline on my weblog anyway, so what’s the use?
-
tagline is like a slogan, a line to describe what’s your blog about. some themes show tagline, and some don’t…
-
Ok, I see. So my theme (http://hanslcv.wordpress.com/) does not allow tagline? Too bad. Thanks anyway.

yes the theme you’re using now has not allocated a place for a tagline. you could easily do one by using a text widget and place it at the top of your sidebar. when you change themes and it shows the tagline, then you remove the text widget.
you’re not an oaf; a little experimenting goes a long way sometimes. ;)

For some reason, URLs in parentheses don’t end up clickable. There’s nothing wrong with the link, it’s just that the ( and ) around it make it unreadable in this particular forum.

There is a work around for those who wish to have a tagline and who are using a theme that does not display one. The tagline can be placed in a text widget and placed at the top of the sidebar.

if you use tags your site will not be indexed by google… i had the problem with my site and after removing the tags it was listed by google

@phattrance
He doesn’t mean “tags”. He means a “tagline” ie. a blog sub-title. Example: wpbloggingtips: a wordpress resource blog
