Tagline won't show up in Edin theme (July 2016, free WordPress.com version)

  Hi, I’ve poked around in other help forums and can’t find the answer for why the Tagline won’t show up in WordPress.com’s Edin theme (free account version). It’s clear that if I pay for an upgrade, this is fixable, but my client wishes to keep things free at this point. Any advice (other than contact the Edin creators, which I will do next)? Thanks!

  Some of the WordPress.com themes do not have visible taglines. It appears that Edin is one of those themes. I’m not sure if upgrading to allow CSS editing will help. It may be something that can’t be changed. You may have to find a different theme that features a visible tagline.
