This may be a really obvious question, and it seems like it should be, but how do you put tags to your posts? I don’t see a area to place them at all when you’re writing or editing it. Thanks a lot!

There should be a blue heading to the right of the posting box called Categories. That’s it. You don’t have any before you type a category in and hit Add.

tags and categories mean the same thing in wordpress, by the way.
Pretty much. WordPress uses categories and otherside cources like Technorati see them as tags for their use.
If you want, you can actually place tags within your blog posts seperate from the categories. Lorelle wrote an article about it here.
Hope this helps,

Over at WordPress.org, there’s an Ideas forum. One of the most popular ideas for further features of WordPress is… tags. The idea is under consideration. Two questions within the thread are: should tags exist alongside categories? should tags be part of core WordPress? Score one point for each correct/positive answer :)

I have already signed up with wordpress and received my log in ID. My friend has set up
a private blog. He has invited me to join in. How could I join my friend private blog without settin up a new account. -
You can’t. They have to have an account. They can create one without getting a blog though.
