  When I add tags they never show up on my published pages, why???

  Can you share the link to the post where you’ve added tags?

  Please make sure that after you’ve added the tags to a post, you have clicked the Update button. Otherwise, the tag will not be saved. Check out the support page for Tags here: https://wordpress.com/support/posts/tags/
