Where is the option to add tags? “Post” no longer shows up when I create a new blog.

    WP.com: Yes
    Jetpack: No
    Correct account: Yes

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Renaissancemoon, on WordPress.com, tags are usually added in the post editor sidebar when you create or edit a post. If you don’t see the “Post” option, try going to Site > Posts > Add New from your dashboard. The tags box should appear on the right side of the editor screen. If it’s still missing, double-check you’re using the standard WordPress.com editor and not a Jetpack or custom interface.

And if you don’t see the sidebar then click on “options” (the three dots in a box on the right).

Same problem. There is NO tags link below the settings icon. There was in the past, but not now. I watched and followed the video which says there is a tags link below that post setting icon – which is not the case. The information in this forum section also says to go to the tags link in the post settings section. Nothing. Adding this to wp’s tendency to force blocks and use AI is making it harder and harder to post – which is too bad, since wp has been an old friend in creating a couple of hundred posts about the work of influential author George R. Stewart. Here’s my weblog link: https://georgerstewart.wordpress.com/ Thanks, DMS

Hi there @rangerdon Are you also using the Classic Editor on your site? If so, have you looked at the Screen Options tab in the upper right corner of your browser window while you’re in the Post Editor? That tab appears just beneath your username in the the Admin bar. If Tags isn’t checked there, you’ll need to re-check the box.

If that’s not what you’re seeing, please share a screenshot of what you do see https://wordpress.com/support/make-a-screenshot/ and share it here.

Yes, Classic. Nothing about tags under my user name. Only ‘profile’ and logout’. I finally found it, but since the side bar menu defaults to ‘block’ I didn’t initially know I had to choose ‘post.’ Another problem with block and I wish it was an opt-in feature. It is a pain to work with – classic is much easier for me and several Wp friends.
