something changed. When I click on a tags (under a post or in tag cloud), the links all point to en.wordpress.com. All other links correctly point to tswert.wordpress.com
This happens whether or not I am logged in, in Chrome, Firefox, and IE.
I’m using the theme Twenty Ten.

Hey there,
This is actually the intended behaviour for public WordPress.com blogs; the tag and category links on your blog posts link to the WordPress.com global tag pages to help your readers, and other WordPress.com users discover similar content which could potentially be of interest to them.
As you’ve noticed, you can link to your local tag or category pages via the Tag, or Category widgets in your sidebar (you can add these to your sidebar from Appearance > Widgets in your dashboard).
I hope this helps clear things up!

I can see why that would be useful to WordPress, since it would generate traffic to other blogs. I don’t see how that is of value to readers. There are three possible contexts in which tags could be used — the blog at hand, other WordPress blogs, all of the web. Navigation to WordPress blogs is the least useful of the three, I lose the ability to navigate the thing that is already of interest, don’t get a view of everything that might be. What I get instead is links to a random (that within WP blogs) subset of content.
At the very least, this should be a configurable setting.

The Global Tags feature is also interesting for you as a blog publisher, because your posts will be also included in our Tagazines, and therefore you will receive traffic from other WordPress.com blogs with similar content.
