Tags and metatags

  A beginner question: Do you add tags to every post? Is there a way to add general tags (metatags?) to everything on your site?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Yes I do but I’m clearly ware that it is the keywords in post content and not the tags that search spiders are focused on. They can even detect when keyword tags assigned to posts are not supported by the text in post. http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2012/03/01/revisiting-keywords-and-tags/

  No. This is a muituser blogging platform and we bloggers cannot access metadata files. Matt Cutts makes it clear that so many have tried to game search engine results with bogus meta keyword tags that Google ignores them.

  1) yes, it’s a good idea to use either tags or categories, as plenty of readers are only interested in one topic. As your blog grows, too, you’ll find yourself using them to navigate. I prefer categories, myself, because the category widget has an unlimited number of categories, whereas the tag widget displays a maximum of 45.
