Tags aren't working properly?

On the new blog editor, I can’t add more than one tag to a post at a time. If I add six tags to a post and then save/publish/update, only one or maybe two of them will actually stick. I then have to re-add each tag individually, saving/updating between each one.
The new post editor seems to have a number of shortcomings, but this is the most irritating so far.

Can anyone give me some idea about how tags are supposed to work here in WP ? Every time I have published a post with tags included, they then showed underneath the post but only lead to non-existing pages – a complete nuisance. Any ideas ?
