tags disappear in the visual editor

tags disappear in the visual editor, breaking my internal page links. This isn’t really an issue to be solved by the community, but apparently there isn’t a way to just ask the people who work at WordPress about this directly, so here I am. As far as I know, the name attribute hasn’t been replaced by anything else in HTML, so I don’t know why WordPress would remove this. It only recently happened, I’ve had these tags on my site for years and they just got removed about a week ago. This seems like an oversight or bug, and until it gets fixed I guess I’ll just keep using the much messier text editor for my blog’s upkeep. Thanks for your time.

There was a great thread recently with the same issue but I’m not finding it at the moment.
The use of “name” for those links within the document has been deprecated and now you must us the “id” identifier to create your link. There were some current oddities, but the basics still followed this tutorial:

Thank you very much! I didn’t see on w3 that “name” had been depreciated, but I had a sneaky suspicion.
